1st Experimental & Demonstration Activity Agios Neophytos Monastery, Paphos

On May 13th, 2025, as part of the CONNECTING Project, in connection with another Horizon Europe initiative and in collaboration with the Digital Cultural Heritage Lab of the Cyprus University of Technology, we took our project equipment including a DJI Matrice 350 RTK drone with Zenmuse P1 and L2 sensors, and a CHCNAV handheld laser scanner to support the external and internal 3D documentation of the Holy Monastery of Saint Neophytos the Recluse, near Paphos, Cyprus.

Founded in the 12th century, the monastery is an important cultural and religious site, known for its Byzantine frescoes and the rock-cut Enkleistra of Saint Neophytos. It is included in UNESCO’s tentative list for World Heritage. This joint effort contributed to the digital preservation of one of Cyprus’s most valuable heritage landmarks.
