TV appearance on ANT1 national channel

Earlier today, the project coordinator, Dr. Athos Agapiou, was invited on “Mera Mesimeri” TV show of ANT1 national channel upon his inclusion amongst the most influencial authors (top 3) in the field of geoinformatics on cultural heritage according to the Bibliometric analysis of GIS applications in heritage studies based on Web of Science from 1994 to 2023. During his appearance on the TV show, Dr. Agapiou gave a brief overview of the recent trends in the aforementioned field.

Discussions between CUT and Infralabs members

A fruitful discussion was held earlier today between CUT members and members of the Infralabs SME. The scope of the meeting was to clarify issues related to the infrastructure to be acquired by the CUT team for the servers and storage units, as well as other technical details for providing services and remote access to external partners.

Internal CUT meeting

A meeting was held earlier today between CUT members to discuss details regarding the budget allocation of the infrastructure that will be acquired for the needs of the project. Final conclusions have been made which will support the procurement of the infrastructure.

Clarifications with RIF

A short phone meeting was held earlier today between the coordinator of the project and the RPF responsible officer regarding the infrastructure procedures and potential slight deviations to the proposal as a result of the uncertainties of the socioeconomic global changes.

Internal CUT meeting

An online meeting was held between CUT members to discuss the progress of the upcoming deliverables to be submitted by the end of May 2024 (M6) and more specifically D1: Quality Assurance Plan, D2: Contingency Plan and D13: Dissemination, Exploitation and Communication Plan. The purpose of the meeting was to communicate the updates on the above-mentioned deliverables to the project coordinator and to ensure a timely preparation ahead of the review and submission process.

Demonstration of Janus Explore Slam 100 on CUT undergraduate course

For the purposes of selecting the appropriate equipment for the CONNECTING project, the "Janus Explore Slam 100" mobile laser scanner was sent to the university on a trial lease for 2 weeks in order to test both the field measurements as well as the data processing in specific software. JanusExplore – Omniasphere used for the CONNECTING project

JanusExplore mobile laser scanner was tested for data collection at the Tombs of the Kings. In case of proceeding with JanusExplore purchase, the equipment will be acquired via CONNECTING project although the data will be re-used in ENGINEER project. The potential acquisition of the laser scanner will also facilitate the planned activities of the CUT team within the context of the ongoing research projects while engaging national stakeholders (i.e., DoA) in the data collection process.

CONNECTING website on KTISIS

CONNECTING website was launched on KTISIS repository. KTISIS will be used to facilitate the use and re-use of data pertaining to the project’s activities as well as for sharing and disseminating the project’s outcomes.
