In an effort to ensure that active research projects are closely aligned with the broader strategic aims of the institution, the CONNECTING project has been specifically included in a detailed questionnaire that has been distributed among the members of the university. This initiative is indicative of a strategic move to ensure that all ongoing research projects at the university are not only reflective of but also actively contributing to the broader global agenda, as outlined by the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set forth by the United Nations. The inclusion of the ENGINEER project in this internal communication effort serves a dual purpose: firstly, it highlights the project’s significance and alignment with these global objectives, and secondly, it sets a precedent for how research initiatives within the university are expected to contribute to these goals during the period 2023 to 2024. This approach demonstrates a concerted effort by the university to not only advance its research agenda but also play a pivotal role in addressing some of the most pressing challenges identified by the global community.
