Fieldwork Dierona, Cyprus

Fieldwork was carried out in Dierona, Cyprus, where members of the CONNECTING project conducted 3D documentation of a historic watermill site. The bridge of Dierona, built in the 17th century, was historically used to facilitate river crossing towards the mill, where villagers would grind wheat. The site is located north of the village, along the banks of the Amathus River, where the old watermill operational until 1950 still stands.

The documentation was performed using photogrammetry techniques, supported by SLAM-based surveying with CHCNAV RS10 systems to enhance spatial accuracy. Additional data were collected using drone imagery and ground-based photography to support the creation of detailed 3D models.
